Summer Camp Registrations Open
Summer Residential Camp 2018 will be held at an ACA accredited summer camp in Big Bear, CA.
The camping program continues its 95-year tradition of offering young people a safe opportunity to explore the world beyond their own urban neighborhoods and enjoy unique growth experiences. Each one-week session will focus on outdoor living skills, science, nature, and fitness activities. Each camper will gain a better understanding of the outdoor world and participate in safe and fun activities to master their outdoor living skills. We will offer archery, drama, team building exercises, scavenger hunts, games, survival skills, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities. Camp groups are arranged by age, gender, and developmental appropriateness.
Our camp counselors are ready to implement a wide range of outdoor activities and adventures. The camp staff is led by Woodcraft Rangers staff from our afterschool programs. All staff members are adults, and undergo training in camp activities, group dynamics, team building, safety, and youth development. All staff have references and fingerprint checks on file, and are trained in first aid, CPR, emergency procedures, and conflict resolution.
The Health and Safety of all participants is of top priority to us. Emergency response untis are available from nearby Big Bear City. The professional kitchen staff prepares nutritious meals daily. The camp health supervisor and staff are trained to monitor campers' health to make sure they are ready for the activities ahead. Parents should be aware that there is an assumed risk of injury in any camp activity.
