Yonex Brings the Game to Greater Los Angeles Through Woodcraft Rangers

Woodcraft Rangers is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Yonex, bringing expanded tennis opportunities to students across greater Los Angeles County.

Yonex, the world-renowned tennis equipment brand and official equipment sponsor of the USTA Foundation’s Community Impact Hubs, donated racquets, balls, nets, and more to Woodcraft Rangers. That means putting professional-grade equipment directly in the hands of students who might never have had access to the sport before.

The new Yonex equipment made its debut at Ways of Woodcraft (WOW), our largest culminating event of the year showcasing sports tournaments and performances from participating schools across Los Angeles County. Students from our tennis clubs competed in a red ball tournament using their new Yonex equipment, with families and school partners cheering them on. “I really love tennis,” said one student from a middle school tennis club, “It’s one of my favorite sports of all time.”

Through red ball tennis, a beginner-friendly format designed to build confidence and skills from the very first swing, our students have been finding their footing, making friends, and developing the kind of self-belief that sticks with them long after the final point is played.

Yonex has also taken on the title sponsorship of the Woodcraft Rangers Community Impact Hub, part of a broader $700,000+ national commitment to expanding tennis access in under-resourced communities.

“This partnership opens doors to a sport that has historically been out of reach,” said Danny Salas, Chief Program Officer at Woodcraft Rangers. “And that access is exactly what transforms a program into something that changes lives.”

We couldn’t agree more. To Yonex and the USTA Foundation — thank you for believing in our students and for helping us grow the game of tennis across communities throughout Los Angeles.
