Javier Gonzalez, Senior Director of Programs at Woodcraft Rangers, is a dedicated and experienced leader with a passion for serving youth and fostering leaders. With over 19 years of expertise in enrichment, wellness, and sports education, Javier brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to his role. Currently, Javier oversees over 65 school sites and special projects focused on empowering youth through enrichment and education. He plays a pivotal role in facilitating sports trainings, managing large-scale sports tournaments and events, and providing guidance and mentorship to staff promoting youth leadership and holistic development. He has been instrumental in providing professional development training to coaches, partaking in LACOE’s and CDE’s CQI Pilot Project, focusing on essential areas such as scaffolded skills and drills, relationship building, and empowering student-athletes for success on and off the field.
Before joining Woodcraft Rangers, Javier was the Athletics Director at Marco Antonio Firebaugh High School, where he had a lasting impact leading the sports program and participating in CIF-sanctioned events. Javier’s professional journey includes training with esteemed organizations such as Up2Us Sports, Rugby USA, Positive Coaching Alliance, and The Center for Healing and Justice through Sport. His experience highlights his continuous pursuit of enhancing his skills and knowledge in youth development and sports education. Javier holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, underscoring his academic foundation in understanding social dynamics and human behavior.
