Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship Program
About Together Rising Los Angeles
Launched in 2024, the Together Rising Los Angeles (TRLA) apprenticeship program is an innovative initiative and the first registered apprenticeship in Southern California for early childhood educators and expanded learning teacher pathways.
This program nurtures the next generation of education professionals by providing participants with paid, hands-on learning and mentoring while they complete coursework at East Los Angeles College (ELAC). Graduates are eligible to obtain a California Child Development Teacher Permit, building a stronger foundation for the future of education.
Program Components:
All participants will:
- Be employed by Woodcraft Rangers as a Junior Rangers Club Leader, leading a group of 20 TK-3rd grade students.
- Enroll in ECE classes at East Los Angeles College
Receive one-on-one mentorship and guidance from ELAC and Woodcraft staff - Attend Saturday classes and meetings
Eligibility and Participation:
To be eligible to participate in this program, participants must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- Be enrolled in or have completed Child Development 1
